US cup lettering: D, DD, and DDD

US sizing can feel confusing after D because many brands use DD and DDD while other systems move into E or F. That is why a US DDD often does not look like the same label in UK or EU charts.

The band and cup have to be read together. A 34DDD is not just a larger version of every D cup; it is a cup step attached to a specific band, and sister sizes can keep similar cup volume while changing band feel.

Brand sizing still matters

A chart gives you a standard reference, but bras are products with shape, stretch, wire width, cup depth, and construction choices. Two bras with the same printed label can feel different if one brand uses firm elastic and another uses a stretchier band.
